For many years we have also been organising successful “health camps” staffed by expers focused on specific medical issues. Their aim is to bring about long-term improvements to the health of the local population and the care available to them.

Women’s Shelter Mahila Avaz – Women’s Voice:

For the Women’s Shelter Mahila Avaz – Women’s Voice we are looking for a much broader range of volunteers. Whether you are an expert in agriculture or food industry, a specialist in herbal medicine and botany or a creative, we are looking for you. Creative skills in pottery, dressmaking and tailoring and the creation of jewellery are in high demand. Empathetic individuals with great interpersonal skills and social care professionals such as psychotherapists and social workers are also very welcome to get involved.

Volunteers interested in agriculture support farmers in a range of practical and theoretical matters such as plant cultivation, nutrient cycles, irrigation systems, greenhouse maintenance, beekeeping, product conservation, chicken farming and the use of herbal medicine.

Volunteers in the women’s shelter can support carers in daily tasks and get involved in child care. If you are looking to support local social workers you will be able to help in a broad range of fields, from pottery production and dressmaking, to the running of health and hygiene workshops. You can furthermore be involved in workshops focused on empowerment and confidence and gain insight into some of the topics we care about most: domestic violence, women’s rights, forced marriage, chhaupadi, young motherhood, kidnapping, freedom of expression etc.

If you are interested, please get in touch. We are looking forward to a personal conversation to figure out exactly how and where you can help depending on what unique skills you bring to the table.
